The Future of Social Media

I am currently working for a company called Youventout that is based in Minneapolis,MN. I am reaching out to my readers across the U.S. to offer some assistance & advice in regards to the website. The website is aimed to reach Generation Y--which is most likely the same population reading my blog.

What is Youventout anyways?

Youventout is the wave of the future

It is a unique blend of social media & commerce

Allows organizations to market their product & consumers to buy their product simultaneously
The 1st social media website that allows networking-brand marketing & consumer B2B incentives all in one single click.
And what exactly does all this mean?
For a young professional: The more times you log on & network= the points you earn that are converted into gift cards to your favorite shops IE: Target, Best Buy, Forever 21 etc. And even prices ie: IPAD, Ipods, camera's--you name it youventout has it
Business Owners: If you don't have the capital to market your product or company the way you want to--Youventout will assist you with your preliminary marketing needs!

So what are you waiting for? Visit www.youventout.com today!

I would love to hear from those of you who check out the website! If you have any constructive criticism please forward your comments to acannon923@yahoo.com

r e c r u i t i n g

The job process can be extremely overwhelming. Moving to Chicago was a very big change for me--one area that I really feel comfortable with in the job process is interviewing--I take time to prepare for preliminary interviews and in-person interviews. If you need help with prepping for interviews feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail! I would love to be of assistance~

After going on so many interviews--you begin to get frustrated. On the bright side though, it can only help you to improve for future interviews--you sort of become a professional at interviewing. After going on several --I finally found a great opportunity!

This week I started my 3rd internship. I am an IT Recruiter for a company located downtown--it is extremely fun so far and very different from my last internship. My main focus at work is to fill position for various types of Engineers around the United States. Occasionally I assist organization in other types of jobs but the Engineer industry is my main focus. If I end up liking this internship then I will continue in this industry but so far I am unsure!

I am learning some really good tricks on finding qualified candidates that I would have never thought of!--it's crazy the amount of information you can find on the internet--so be careful with social media websites!

Well, I am not a big fan of the Chicago weather--a little too warm for me--but hey its better than snow right? It is time to go out and enjoy my friday~everyone enjoy the weekend!

Quarter Life Crisis

It's been quite awhile since my last blog~ I would like to say THANK YOU- to all of my readers! Who would of thought that my blog would reach people in over 10 different countries? Every where from Africa, India, Germany, France, just to name a few! And in a small amount of time has reached over 1,000 views! That is quite an accomplishment to me. I apologize for the lag time, At the time, there was so much going on. I was doing two internships and trying to write papers, presentations and other final projects while trying to keep my sanity all at the same time.

At the end of the day--I really love having a very busy schedule--it keeps me on my toes. I am always asked during interviews how I handled such a busy schedule. My answer is when you have so much on your plate--you physically HAVE to make time & prioritize!

With school now officially over--I am left with way too much time on my hands & I really feel like less is getting done because of it! I am in the process of finding a new job. There is nothing more physically frustrating than the process of looking for a job. Apply. Wait. Pre-screen. Interview.Wait again. Repeat Process

Right now I am going through a quarter life crisis (let's be honest it's not a mid-life crisis) or maybe a more accurate term would be the 20 something blues. I am the type of person who has always had my life planned out. In high school I planned my entire 4 years the moment I could. When I went to college--you bet I had all 128 credits mapped out so that I could complete 2 majors in 4 years. Graduate school--same concept.

Somewhere down the line, on my map towards life, I some how forgot that life does not always go as planned. I didn't map out the areas where I needed to re-route. Graduate school goes by so fast. A year ago today I was moving to Chicago to start out my life and soon start school. Today, I am trying to plan for next year at this time. I have a reached a fork in the road, and I am very unsure which path to go.
