I am starting to wonder..do people know what to do during interviews? Do people know how to format their resumes? Do they know what to wear? Do they know what questions NOT to ask? The answer is--absolutely not! I do interviews on a day to day basis & honestly, I see some weird things.
- Unfortunately, being a stay at home mom does not constitute as work experience
- Neither does handing out cake at your little cousins birthday party
- If your outfit is something you wore to the club last weekend, it is probably not appropriate to wear it to an interview
- Include dates on your resume--I am not a mind reader
- You probably should not critique interview questions...during the interview
- Don't ask for treats before the interview....and then proceed to eat them...during the interview
- We all love our mom's....but that doesn't mean she should come inside and sit down during the interview
- If you are going to get dressed up for an interview, get ready head to toe. Dressy shirt, dressy pants....and sneakers=not okay.
- Do not..and I repeat do NOT..ask the receptionist and or the interviewer out on a date--you are making things awkward for the office & yourself
- If you cannot recall the college you attended..I question if you really went at all
do YOU know what to do during an interview?
